Having a water pressure regulator is essential. Some RV parks have very high water pressure (over 60 psi) which can burst pipes inside the RV. An adjustable valve makes it easy to regulate the pressure. Most are preset to 60 psi, which is what is recommended by our RV manufacturer. If the pressure is too low, and not adjustable to 60 psi, we remove the regulator. But, removing it seems to make little difference. 50 psi is adequate for taking a shower. The Valterra Adjustable Water Pressure Regulator is made of brass and lead free.
We also recommend a Solid Brass Water Y Valve with shut off valves. This one has comfort grips. Most RV parks only have one water spigot, rarely two. Having the Y valve makes it really easy to attach a hose to wash the car, RV, or Jake. He prefers the outside shower because its heated. We have read complaints that the valve diameter is too small and restrict water flow or the plastic breaks easily. So far we have not had these problems.
