Mosquito Repeller
We were spoiled in San Diego and rarely saw a mosquito. Many RV parks have fire pits. We enjoy sitting outside at dusk with a glass of wine sometimes with a fire. Sandy is a mosquito magnet. Even wearing long pants, long sleeved shirt, socks, a hat, spraying Off, and lighting a citronella candle, she will still get bitten. Besides the itchy welt that lasts a few days, mosquitos carry all sorts of diseases including West Nile and Zika.
The Thermacell product does not eliminate all these other tactics, but it does enhance them. After tuning it on and waiting about 10-20 minutes is creates an area of protection. The repellent is allethrin.
The Theracell device is powered by a butane caridge that heats a mat soaked in the repellent.
Even though it works, it takes time and goes through mats and butane quickly. Its a great idea to have backup available.
