RV storage is expensive, especially in California. After our Airstream service was complete, our service advisor gave us the name of a storage place in Temecula that was reasonably priced.

Del Mar, California Spring
Springtime in Del Mar, California is a magical season filled with flowers, warmer temperatures, and breathtaking scenery. This charming coastal town, north of La Jolla, is known for its stunning beaches, upscale dining options, and social scene. Just south of Del Mar but north of La Jolla is Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. It is one of the most stunning natural attractions in the San Diego area. This protected parkland features towering cliffs, sweeping ocean views, and an abundance of native flora and fauna. In the spring, the reserve is particularly beautiful, with wildflowers blooming throughout the park. Torrey Pines has an extensive trail system to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of this unique coastal ecosystem.

Wine from Temecula has progressively improved over the last thirty years. Many of the wineries have restaurants and live music. Some have hotels. There area is beautiful with wine grapes covering miles of rolling hills. The last time we stayed in Temecula was at the Pechanga Casino RV park.

The Flower Fields in Carlsbad consist of over 50 acres, most of which are used to grow Tecolote Giant Ranunculus flowers. The ranunculus flowers and bulbs are then sold. The flowers create stunning bands of vibrant color that cover a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean every spring.

Sticks & bricks living, in other words being in a house again, after living on the road for over 6 years in RV parks is a welcome change. We are not done with the RV life as it has been incredibly rewarding and a great way to travel continuously during retirement. Even though a gypsy tiny living lifestyle has had it perks, it has also had numerous drawbacks.

Yuma, Arizona was about a four-hour drive from Tucson. It was only an overnight stay for us, but it would be our last night before being back in California again. Our house in San Diego had been vacant for over a year, so we planned on staying at Santee Lakes for a bit while we got the house up and running again and time to unload the Airstream.
