We were on our way to Gettysburg and thought Harpers Ferry would be a great place to start our Civil War history tour.
Luray
We stayed in Luray, Virginia so that we could visit the Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, and Skyline drive.
Natural Bridge
Natural Bridge is a large arch that is 215-foot-high and spans 90 feet. It was formed by Cedar Creek carving its way through limestone. It may have once been the roof of a large cave. George Washington was there as a young surveyor in 1750.
Mount Airy
We could not resist the opportunity to tour the Mount Airy area in North Carolina after watching so many episodes of Andy Griffith.
Asheville, North Carolina
Asheville, North Carolina is such a beautiful area. It was pouring rain the day we arrived. The next day we enjoyed the view from the RV looking into the trees and clouds. There are so many things to see and do in the Asheville, North Carolina area. We were lucky and the weather cooperated.
Lake Toxaway
Lake Toxaway is in Transylvania County, North Carolina. Lake Toxaway is the largest privately held lake in North Carolina.
