From Las Vegas, Nevada we made our way to Palm Springs, California via Lake Havasu, Arizona. We love the vistas and barren beauty of the southwest.
Viva Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas was a perfect location to spend Thanksgiving with Terri and Jerry. We were lucky to have warm days and cool nights to explore Las Vegas, Red Rocks Canyon and Valley of Fire State Park. It was about a 5 hour drive from San Diego. There is a Freightliner service center north of Vegas where we spent a couple days having our annual service, steering alignment, and warranty shock replacement done.
Property, San Diego, California
We still have a property in San Diego that we had rented the past couple of years. They moved out, giving us a great opportunity to make renovations and put it on the market. We changed our travel plans and stayed in Escondido, which is the closest RV park to the house. Southern California is an amazing place and it was good to be back after a 2 year hiatus. Great year round weather without mosquitos, black flies, tornados, hail or hurricanes. Just fires and earthquakes. It’s easy to see why so many people live here and pay the insane cost of living.
Great Basin, Nevada & Cedar Breaks, Utah
From Idaho, we headed south to see Great Basin National Park in Nevada, Cedar Breaks National Monument in Utah, then Las Vegas.
Picabo, Ketchum, & Twin Falls, Idaho
From Bruneau Dunes we headed east to Picabo, Idaho to see the Craters of the Moon National Monument. After that, north to Ketchum to explore Sun Valley and Stanley. On our way out of Idaho we stopped in Twin Falls to stock up at Costco and see the Shoshone Falls.
Bruneau Dunes & McCall, Idaho
Bruneau Dunes was a great stay. McCall was a few hour drive south from White Bird, Idaho. The road was very scenic, alongside a river, with lots of twists and turns. Surprisingly no cabinets opened or anything damaged during the drive.
