West Yellowstone in the fall is typically not very crowded and a great time to see fall foliage and Yellowstone’s numerous attractions. The risk is cold weather and snow. Which, we had on this trip. Probably because of COVID, people aren’t traveling much outside of the USA and traveling local instead, so there were more people than usual. Animals are getting ready for winter, putting on their winter weight and coats.

Teton National Park is in northwestern Wyoming, just south of Yellowstone National Park. It was established in 1929. We haven’t been here in over 10 years and were looking forward to seeing the striking Teton range, but haze from all the western fires almost completely hid them from view on some days. From Thayne, Wyoming it was a two hour drive.

Heber City is at about 5,600 feet elevation and located in northwestern Wasatch County, Utah. Considering we just came from sea level, it took a day to adjust. Fall colors were just starting.

Repairs have been long overdue, especially when traveling on the road full time. Emergencies are dealt with immediately, but those that can be put off until we are in a favorable location and when we have the time seem to accumulate.

Life on the road has been one of the most amazing things we had done during the last four years. We visited much of the United States and parts of Canada. Traveling by motorhome has allowed us to immerse ourselves into each area without feeling the time constraints of being on vacation. Between the headaches of air travel, hotels, cruise ships, and now COVID-19, living on the road was what we needed.

Escondido is about 30 miles north of San Diego and one of San Diego counties oldest cities. Being about 15 miles inland from the ocean, its climate is a little bit warmer than the coast, but still considered a Mediterranian climate.
