Jupiter, Florida was a great location to spend a week and visit my brother Jeff. Three years ago, when we bought our motorhome, we stayed at the Lion Country Safari in West Palm Beach. This time, we wanted something a little less crowded, even though it would have been nice to hear the roar of lions again from the motorhome.
Cape Canaveral
From Flagler Beach we headed south to the Jetty Park Campground in Port Canaveral. Jetty Park had full service but poor wifi and too many trees to get a good satellite fix. In addition, they had to trim trees to barely fit our motorhome. When trying to level on the soft sand, one of our jacks broke. We were missing the serenity of Flagler Beach. There were Cruise Ships that came in and out of the port everyday, making us dream of a vacation from our travels.
Kennedy Space Center
Not far from Port Canaveral is Nasa’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. It’s definitely a worthwhile visit when in the area. It’s filled with memorabilia, rockets, movies and presentations.
The complex started in the early 1960s as the American space program’s popularity grew with the Mercury Program, and later with the Apollo, Space Station, Voyageur, and Space Shuttle Programs. Now it’s added the Space X launches.
It was amazing to see the original command center and how far technology has come over the last 60 years.
The Apollo/Saturn V Center had original equipment as well as mockups of the Lunar Roving Vehicle, Apollo 14 Command Module, and Lunar Module.
The Space Shuttle Atlantis as well as a full sized model of the Hubble Space Telescope were on display.
Nearby was the Florida Beer Company so we decided to try a flight.
Jupiter, Florida
Blowing Rocks was a beautiful beach. The aqua colors of the water reminded us of our scuba diving vacations in the Caribbean.
There never is enough time to explore all there is to see and do.
Palm Beach Motorcoach Resort, Jupiter, Florida
This is a Class A motorcoach, full service resort on the west side of Jupiter. They had a beautiful 6,200 square foot clubhouse with a full gym, pool, and spa.
Our coach faced a lake with a fountain. There are 100 sites and the resort was less than 20% full.
Each night there were colorful sunsets in Jupiter, so we took the opportunity for a holiday portrait.
We really enjoyed visiting Jeff and Cutie in West Palm Beach.
